His writing style combines narrative clarity with lyrical observation, often moving between humour, reflection, and quiet intensity.

He is associated with Dublin based literary culture and maintains a consistent engagement with contemporary poetic forms. Across his work there is a recurring interest in the relationship between place, memory, and human experience. He continues to develop a body of poetry that draws on lived experience, observation of daily life, and reflective storytelling.

Quinlan’s work is characterised by accessibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to portraying the complexity of ordinary moments. He remains engaged with contemporary writing, contributing to an evolving Irish literary voice shaped by observation, memory, and the quiet significance of everyday human encounters across varied landscapes and experience today still.
